Amelia Ryan Green
Amelia Ryan Green, age 11, of Sherwood, Oregon, was killed in a car-pedestrian accident on February 20, 2022. She was born December 15, 2010, in Erie, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Kyle and Maggie (Meeker) Green. She was a fifth- grade student at Ridges Middle School, in Sherwood, Oregon. Prior to that, she had been a student at East Hampton Elementary School in Connecticut and at Fairview Elementary School in Fairview, Pennsylvania.
Amelia found the most joy in life doing the simple things: eating her grandma's mac & cheese, camping with her family, playing video games, sketching designs and spending quality time with her brothers.
Amelia's legacy is that of love; she loved everyone without condition. She loved school and was an excellent student. She always had a smile on her face that could light up a room. She was a bundle of happiness and energy, mixed with great love and extreme kindness. She left an impression on everyone she met.
She is preceded in death by her uncle, Craig Green II, who was also killed in a car-pedestrian accident as an 11-year-old boy.
Besides her parents, she is survived by two brothers, Isaac Meeker and Craig Green III, both at home; her grandparents, Carrie and Matthew Meeker of Waterford, and Kim and Craig Green of McKean, PA; great-grandmother, Janet Rohrer of Erie, and great-grandparents, Joyce and Raymond Mucha Sr. of St. Petersburg, Florida. She is further survived by her aunts and uncles: Morgan (Mike) Brennan, Molly (Ryan Tarasovitch) Meeker, Matt (Lizzy) Meeker, Jay (Tracy) Green, and Kristi (John) Bailey, and will be dearly missed by her cousins: Quinn and Noah Bailey, Rileigh and Zach Green, Rileigh Brennan, and Bailey Tarasovitch.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours at Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford, PA on Friday, March 4, 2022 from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at McLane Church, 12511 Edinboro Road, Edinboro, PA on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Committal service and burial will follow at Rootville Cemetery.
