SUBMITTED PHOTO - Sandra Lee BitzIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra Lee (Anderson) Bitz on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the age of 76. Sandy, our beloved wife, mother, and Nana will forever be in our hearts and souls.

Sandy was born to her loving parents Harry and Agnes Anderson in Seattle, Washington on September 5, 1945. The family relocated to Tigard, Oregon when she was a young child. She graduated from Tigard High School in 1963. Sandy married her soulmate, Jerald Vincent Bitz 'Jerry' , on December 14, 1963. Together they had four children, Craig, Kristi, Brian, and Kim. In 1970 they moved to Sherwood, Oregon where they purchased a farm on Parrett Mountain. It was here they lived for 52 years and raised their four children. Sandy was an animal lover. She raised dogs and had a variety of pets and farm animals throughout the years. She took in a llama, donkey, goats, dogs, cats, and any animal that needed a home. She shared her passion of horses with her youngest daughter, Kim, and her granddaughters. She put many miles on the truck and horse trailer, attending POA events.

Sandy's passion was her family, she was very supportive and involved with all her children and grandchildren. She attended their sports games, band/choir performances and FFA events. She was a fierce advocate for the Slingerland teaching method for children with learning disabilities, which was adopted by Newberg Elementary School District.

Sandy also enjoyed gardening, canning, crafts, crocheting/knitting, tole painting, sewing and family camping. She loved plants and flowers and had a beautiful one-acre garden. She had many friends in the Parrett Mountain community. She loved talking and visiting with friends and family. Sandy was the center of our family; she was the rock and glue that held everything together. She will be forever missed but will be in our hearts and souls forever.

Sandy worked at Floyds Restaurant, Oregon Pioneer Savings and Loan and Canterbury Veterinary Clinic. After retirement Sandy and Jerry continued to travel. One of her favorite trips was going to Hawaii with Jerry's siblings.

Sandy was preceded in death by her father Harry R. Anderson, mother Agnes E. Anderson; brother-in-law Charles D. Bitz and daughter-in-law Jo A. Bitz.
