SUBMITTED PHOTO - Robert Allan 'Bob' KoeberRobert Allan "Bob" Koeber, born November 18, 1942 in San Francisco, CA passed away September 9, 2019 in Portland, OR.

Bob grew up in Beaverton, OR. He graduated from Beaverton High in 1960 and then spent a few years in college at Portland State University. After leaving college, Bob moved to Alaska and worked for Standard Oil for several years before returning to Beaverton and starting his own carpet and flooring installation business.

Bob loved to travel. After a trip to Maui he decided to go through the process to become a certified travel agent. He specialized in Hawaiian trips and cruises. Once he retired from the carpet business, he focused on travel full time and began an embroidery business on the side.

He met Mary Elizabeth Pisan in 1979 and married her on December 28, 1985. He became a loving stepfather to her two children. Bob shared his love of travel with his family taking them to fun places all over the US and Canada and camping out in the green Ford Van.

Bob was a very social and fun guy who loved to talk. No matter where we went he ran into someone he knew. He was the party planner of his neighborhood and organized many years of neighborhood night out events, BBQs, Caribbean Cruises and several wine bottling parties in his garage. He was a member of the 3rd and 4th degree Knights of Columbus and was the Grand Knight for several years. He was proud of being from Beaverton and of Beaverton High School. He was an active member of the Golden Grads, a group of high school friends who graduated more than 50 years ago.

Volunteering and giving back were important to Bob. Every year he gave turkeys or hams to the Blanchet house and provided boxes of toothbrushes and toothpaste to St Vincent De Paul. He was active in his church, Sacred Heart in Portland. He organized the street clean-up crew that worked up and down Pacific Hwy in Tigard. He donated blood and platelets as often as he could. He also volunteered for the Holiday Express train for many years with his friends.

Bob is survived by his wife of 34 years Mary Koeber; daughter Tina Pisan and son Marc Pisan (Christy). He has three grandchildren, Taylor, Cameron and Austin. He was so proud of his grandchildren and loved them all so much. He has two brothers, Ted Koeber and George Koeber whom he just lost this past July. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Helen Koeber and Ivan Niles Koeber; and son Douglas Koeber.

There will be a mass and a celebration of life for Bob at 11 am on November 16, 2019 at Sacred Heart Church. 3910 SE 11th Ave, Portland, OR 97202.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests a memorial donation be made in Bob's memory to the Blanchet House or sent to them at 310 NW Glisan St., Portland, OR 97209.
