Vivian June Gowan
Vivian June Gowan, born May 14, 1954 in Petaluma, CA, passed away on January 19, 2020 in Tigard, Oregon. Vivian spent her life as an example of breaking beyond boundaries, and projecting her vision and passion to instill the same in others. Her professional career was focused on cardiac care.
Vivian grew up in Philo, California, and graduated from nursing school right after High School. From a young age, she knew what contribution she wanted to make in life. From her early career, Vivian found that critical care, and cardiac care were her special interest.
After Vivian moved to Oregon, she returned to school for her BS in Nursing, and later her MS. She ended her career as a CNS, setting standards of practice and helping train nurses new to the critical care area and instilling a sense of pride and professionalism which was so important to her.
Vivian is survived by her husband of 36 years, Roland Garrison; Roland's Daughter Dyanna, and Dyanna's sons, Antonio and Diego, all of Tualatin. She also is survived by her Mother Jo, sister Grace, and brothers Cecil, Henry, Raymond, Carl, and Don, all of California. Her father James preceded her in death. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services for family and close friends will be held at Riverview Mortuary on Tuesday, January 28, 2020. After the 3:00 PM service, others are invited to pay their respects until 4:30.
