March 17, 1927 - February 14, 2020 Florene Corder passed away on February 14, 2020 in Portland, Oregon.

SUBMITTED PHOTO - Florene Fern Greta CorderFlorene was born in Burdette, Colorado to Jacob and Katherine (Gemaehlich) Dressel. She passed away on February 14, 2020 in Portland, Oregon.

The family moved to Newberg, Oregon during the Great Depression. She attended Newberg schools, graduating in 1945.

She married Prince Corder on May 25, 1946, raising two children.

Working 8 years at the local JCPenneys store, then 24 years at Tektronix in Beaverton, Oregon.

She was a lifelong confirmed member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she worshiped and volunteered for multiple tasks especially after she retired.

She also enjoyed traveling with a local tour group as well as driving trips with the family.

Florene continued to live in Newberg until her 2014. Spending the last 9 months living in Tigard with a granddaughter and her family, during that time she enjoyed much family love and adventures.

In the last couple decades, she really enjoyed playing BINGO and satisfying her sweet tooth.

She is survived by her son, Douglas (Debbie) Corder of Greeley, Colorado and her daughter, Phyllis Churchill of Portland, Oregon; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Prince Corder; and granddaughter, Debbie Hoffner.

A Memorial Service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Newberg on Sunday, February 23 at 1:30pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church. She was buried at Mountainside Cemetery in Scholls, Oregon.
