December 3, 1929 - April 29, 2020 - Carol Dinsmore of Portland, Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020.

SUBMITTED PHOTO - Carol Jean DinsmoreCarol Dinsmore of Portland, Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020. Carol was born December 3, 1929, in Seattle, Wash. to Roy and Ethel Pierce. She graduated from West Seattle High School in 1947. After a year in college, she met and married the love of her life of 68 years Lue Dinsmore.

They moved to Portland Ore. in 1949, starting a family and raising four children. Carol and Lue were active in the Tri - Squares and 59ers club, where they enjoyed square dancing for 51 years. She was a talented seamstress, making their formal dancewear. She enjoyed camping, clamming, gardening, crocheting, and playing the piano. Carol brought in the spirit of the holiday every year by gathering around the piano to sing along with her playing favorite Christmas songs. She and her family enjoyed many reunions camping together. Her adventurous side led her to New Zealand, where she visited her cousins she and Lue also traveled to Hawaii and Alaska.

She lived the last three years at Beaverton Hills Assisted Living Residence and adjusted well to the loss of her ever- loving better half, she went on to make more new friends and stayed active. She was the foundation of our home; her passion and commitment to family has built a legacy that will go on for generations.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Lue Dinsmore, Daughter Sandra Lee, and her greatgrandson Carter.

She leaves behind her son Tom and wife Chris Dinsmore, daughter Mary and husband Les Madden, son Dave Dinsmore. Four grandchildren, Anthony and wife Erika Dinsmore, Carrie Dinsmore, Molly and husband Ryan O'Leary, and Reese Madden. Great Grandson Grayson Dinsmore.

Remembrances in lieu of flowers may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at for the Dinsmore family.
