August 24, 1951 - June 23, 2021 - Janet Watt, 69, of Tigard, Oregon passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. She was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in January of 2021.

Jan was born in Carroll, Iowa to Raymond and Margaritta Watt on August 24, 1951. She was raised on a farm in Otho, Iowa till 8th grade when her family moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1969.

The fall of 1969 brought her to Iowa State University where she majored in Elementary Education. While at ISU, she joined Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and made many lifelong friends. During her last semester at ISU, she and a friend looked at the map and through the game of place the pin on the map (blindfolded)… she moved to Portland, Oregon. Jan went on to earn her Master's degree in Elementary Education in 1976 from the University of Oregon. Jan spent her 32 years of teaching, working at various schools and in different grade levels in the Beaverton School District.

Jan loved reading, theater, playing cards, politics, traveling and following Iowa State Cyclone football and basketball. After retirement, she traveled all over the world exploring Peru, Africa, Egypt, Laos, Cuba, Europe as well as parts of the United States.

She was preceded in death by her parents and older brother Mark Watt. Left to cherish her memory are many friends, neighbors and students. As per Jan's wishes there will be no service or celebration of life.
