Nancy Krause Ketterman of Forest Grove, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 4, 2021, at the age of 83.
Nancy was the daughter of Paul and Ruby (Contri) Ketterman and is survived by her four children, David, Sandy, Joanne and Doug Krause and her granddaughter, Ariel Brown.
Nancy grew up in Berkley, Michigan and graduated from Berkley High School with a handful of other classmates that became lifelong friends.
She was a competitive roller skater (single/doubles) and received many accolades for her graceful style. She also enjoyed ice skating, holiday crafts, reading, gardening, community outreach and being an animal rescue advocate.
Nancy married William Krause in 1959 and the couple had four children together. The family moved to Wilsonville, Oregon in 1972 to a large farm on the Willamette River where Nancy (with the help of her children) soon came to love raising and caring for many varieties of animals. The small farming community quickly embraced her outgoing energy and Nancy became involved with The Frog Pond Church, PTA, 4-H and Boones Ferry Days (which she helped organize and later became President). She always enjoyed coordinating events such as coronations, decorating parade floats and loved visiting neighboring towns to represent the community of Wilsonville.
Nancy was a very kindhearted person and was always willing to help others. In her later years she focused much of her time and energy helping animals in need by donating her time to several local organizations, including The Oregon Spay/Neuter Fund (where she served as Vice President), Foster Pets NW, and The Bonnie L. Hays Animal Shelter.
