Kathy DeArmond

March 13, 1944 to March 23, 2017

Dorothea Kathryn DeArmond, of Wilsonville, Ore., passed away on March 23, 2017. Born in Klamath Falls, Ore., to Helen and Robert P. Ellingson, Jr., she graduated from Klamath Union High School and Oregon State University. In 1966, Kathy married Thomas DeArmond and had three children. Later in life, she earned an M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology.

Kathy will be remembered for her love of education, books, gardening, horses, travel and children. In retirement, she filled most of her time with her grandchildren: Katelyn, Benjamin, Thomas, Isabella, David, Madison, Charlotte and Hannah, who all loved sharing books, cooking, crafts, and adventures with Grammy. To say that her grandchildren were the highlight of Kathy's life and that they will miss her tremendously are both huge understatements.

Kathy dearly loved her family. She is survived by her children Lisa DeArmond Wing (Brian Wing), Tom DeArmond, Jr. (Heidi Schmidt), and Brent DeArmond; her eight grandchildren; her two brothers and their wives, Robert and Dianne Ellingson and Peter and Ginger Ellingson, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Dorothea Kathryn DeArmond was an extraordinarily kind and loving mother and grandmother and she will be forever missed by those who are left behind.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on May 13 at Community of Hope Lutheran Church in Wilsonville, 27817 SW Stafford Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to PEO, Chapter X or to Community of Hope Lutheran Church.
