Lyle Bruce Simmons
Lyle Bruce Simmons was born in Winterset, Iowa on September 25, 1944 to Charles Erwin Simmons and Lucile Bernice Nehr.
The family moved to Portland, Oregon when he was age 6. He attended Portland schools and graduated from Grant high school in 1962. In 1963 he married Patricia Lois Lindblad, together they moved to Beavercreek, Oregon and raised four children. They divorced in 2014.
Lyle was a simple man who loved God and his family. He enjoyed the little things in life like taking road trips, fishing, nature, camping and football. He had a deep love for his grandkids and his children. He enjoyed making people smile and laugh, he had a great sense of humor.
Lyle is preceded in death by his mom; and sister Karen Marie Simmons in 1968. He is survived by his four children, Bruce Eugene Simmons of Vancouver, Washington, Teresa Kay Simmons of Wilsonville, Oregon, Kevin Lewis Simmons of Augusta, Montana and Timothy William Simmons of Gresham Oregon; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
As a tribute to Lyle, find time to spend with the elders in your life and those who are housebound. Also look for simple ways to put a smile on someone's face.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday December 1, 2018. It will be an open house from Noon to 3 PM at the Wilsonville Community Center, 7965 SW Wilsonville Rd, Wilsonville, OR 97070. Lunch will be provided.
