Edward (Ed) Otto
Edward (Ed) Otto, 83, passed away Jan. 5 in Keizer, OR, and was interred with military honors on Jan. 10 at Willamette National Cemetery. He was born July 4, 1934, in Blakely, PA, to Edward and Drucilla Otto, who named him Ford Alonzo. He graduated from Roger Ludlow High School in Fairfield, CT, where the family had moved. He changed his name to Edward after entering the Air Force in 1953. After his service, Ed moved to California, where he earned an engineering degree at UCLA and married Linda Faulkner. He worked for Lockheed Missiles and Space Division the majority of his career, mainly in Sunnyvale.
On retirement, Ed and Linda moved to Roseville, CA, where Ed did some substitute teaching. In 2003, they moved to Oregon to be closer to their son Paul and his family, choosing Woodburn for its cultural diversity and interesting history. Ed was a member of Immanuel's Reformed Church in Salem. He enjoyed country music, reading, crossword puzzles and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings. He is survived by his wife, son, daughter-in-law, and four grandchildren, as well as a younger brother, a sister-in-law, and nephews and nieces.
