Robert 'Bob' Gordon Scholer
The family moved around California and Oregon before settling in Lake Grove in the
Bob attended West Linn high school where he excelled in baseball and basketball. He graduated in 1950 and went on to attend University of Oregon on athletic scholarships before leaving to go into the US Air Force in February 1952. He served four years and earned the rank of Sergeant. Bob worked various odd jobs before finding
his way into building material manufacturing, owning his own roofing company for a time and eventually became the CEO of Boral Industries American based plants which he retired from in 1993. He married his high school sweetheart (after 38 years) Judean Scholer in 1988. Since retiring they have wintered in Palm Desert, CA.
and lived in Woodburn in the summer.
He is well known for his love of Oregon Ducks sports, especially football, and the game of golf.
Bob passed away Jan. 15, 2019 from a massive heart attack in his palm desert home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, son David, and grandson, Ryan.
Bob is survived by his wife, Judean; son, Steve (Mary); daughter, Paula; stepsons, Bob (Judi) and Jim (Janine); six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Bruce (Sharon), and Jerry.
He will be greatly missed by many.
A private celebration of life will be held at later time to be determined. Memorial donations can be made in his name to the American Heart Association or charity of choice.
