Leslie Ann Merriman
She was born to Walter and Nancy Block July 4, 1944 in Portland.
Leslie lived in Eugene and moved to Tigard in the fifth grade, graduating from Tigard High School in 1962. She attended Portland State, Monterey Peninsula College, and Cal Poly Pomona Campus. Leslie spent her life working as a farmer, nurserywoman, horse trainer, and homemaker. She attended St. Luke's Catholic church in Woodburn.
She married Jack L. Merriman on Oct. 2, 1965 in Couer d'Alene, ID. She lived on her hazelnut farm with her husband and children for 46 years.
Leslie instructed young ladies through the 4-H in Horseback Riding in Aurora. She enjoyed gardening, trail riding on horseback and anything horse related. When she was a young lady, she led the horseback rides on the beach in Gearhart during the summer months. She was an avid gardener, fantastic cook, and a wonderful mother who raised three children.
She is survived by her husband, Jack; children, Lorrie J. Merriman, of La Mesa, CA; Jack S. Merriman Jr., of Aurora, and Meg A. Larson, of Rockaway Beach; one granddaughter, Whitney A. Larson; her brother, Richard Block, of Newberg; and her sister, Mary Getman, of Woodburn.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on April 13, 2019 at the Hubbard Chapel, located at 2934 H. St. in Hubbard, OR 97032.
