Nadine LeVay Eckhardt
Nadine (Nay) LeVay Eckhardt, went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully in her sleep, on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, with her son, Brian, by her side.
Nadine raised her family in Kirkland, Washington, while working full time jobs. She loved bringing home tasty treats while working at See's Candies in Southcenter, holding and comforting the children while working at Pediatrician Dr. Kilburn's in downtown Kirkland, and retired from professional life at AG Edwards in Portland. She touched many lives, both professionally and personally, and built life-long friendships.
Family was always her primary focus and she never missed a single scholastic/athletic event while her children were growing up. She created a comfortable home life, even promoting an environment where all the neighborhood kids were welcome to come, grab something to eat, and just relax, whether her kids were home or not. Even up to the day of her passing, she was making sure everyone around her was comfortable. She constantly put others' needs above her own.
She was able to renew her Christian faith when she relocated to the Portland area at Beaverton Four Square Church. She met an amazing Pastor, Ron Mehl, who completely embraced her, along with guiding, assisting and supporting her reconnection to God. She also enjoyed tremendous family support in the greater Portland area, with the Culver family, and was able to visit the Holy Land of Israel with Pastor Ron and several family members. Upon moving to Woodburn, Ore. with her husband, she received great comfort from Hoodview Church, its congregation and Pastors BJ Kuykendall and Steve Kufeldt.
She loved going to the Oregon Coast and spending as much time as possible with her family. She was completely at peace there, listening to the crashing waves, watching the whales migrate, and knowing family was always close by. She is preceded in death by her brother, David E. Culver of Oregon, and her husband, Robert Eckhardt, also of Oregon. She is survived by her brother, James Culver and his wife Barbara of Oregon; the father of her children, Ed Bischoff of Washington; and her children: Todd Bischoff of California; Brian Bischoff and his wife, Sandy Chenoweth of Washington; and Kathy Bischoff and her partner, Melissa Szafranski of Florida.
Her generous, caring, loving spirit will be greatly missed, as she touched the lives of so many.
The family will hold a celebration of her life at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Hoodview Church of God in Woodburn, Oregon.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Nadine's name to Providence Hospice of Seattle.
