SUBMITTED PHOTO - Charles L. Ziemer and Beverly I. (Cox) ZiemerCharles Ziemer passed away on March 30, 2020 of natural causes. Charles was born in Philips, Wisconsin to Robert Ziemer and Muriel (Ritter) Ziemer. He was the third of six children and had two older half-sisters. The family moved to Boring, Oregon when Charles was around 12 years old. On December 15, 2020, eight and a half months after losing her beloved, Beverly joined him in death. She also died of natural causes at home surrounded by family and love. Beverly was born in Wichita, Kansas to Clarence Cox and Donna (Dunkin) Cox. She was the oldest of five children. The family moved to Gresham, Oregon when she was around 14 years old. Chuck and Bev met at Gresham High School when she was a freshman and he was a ophomore. They dated all through high school and married August 12, 1955, the summer before she began her senior year and he had just graduated. Charles died a few months before they would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. They began as a young couple living in Southeast Portland and moved their young family to Boring where they raised their children on the property Charles grew up on and in a home they designed and built themselves. In 2005 they finally sold their home and land to downsize and move near the golf course in Woodburn, Oregon where they lived until their deaths. Charles began his career as a local truck driver. He changed jobs and worked for Grover Electric and Plumbing Supply in Vancouver, Washington for the majority of his career. He began as a sales associate on the floor and worked his way up into executive management. When he left Grovers' in the late

1980's it was to buy a print shop in Molalla, Oregon. He and Beverly, who had spent many years being a homemaker and mother, ran the business together

until they retired. Through the years, Beverly, had enjoyed helping in her children's school. She spent time as the president of the PTA and rotating through her three

children as an active, involved "Room Mother". She

also volunteered often to work on the census board

and help administer elections. When her children were older, she worked for a few years as a dental receptionist before joining Charles at the print shop. Chuck and Bev are survived by their three children; Charles (Tony) Anthony Ziemer, of Fairview, Oregon, Teresa (Ziemer} Kehrli, of Gresham, Oregon, and Timothy Allen Ziemer, of

Milwaukie, Oregon. Two grandchildren: Justin Kehrli (Vannessa) of Gresham, Oregon, and Kelsey (Kehrli) Burns (Grant) of Oregon City, Oregon. And two great-grandchildren: Bettie Kehrli and Oliver Burns. A Celebration of Life service will be scheduled when Covid restrictions are lifted.
