For most of her childhood, Louise was an Air Force brat, moving with her family to Japan for a year & a half then all around the Pacific Northwest. In 1963, the family moved to Colton, Oregon to be near grandparents.

In 1970, Louise graduated from Colton High School and married Nick Schaefer. They had three children, Bridget Louise, Angela Ilene & Nicholas Eugene Jr. They divorced in 1982.

Louise married Wayne Shindledecker in 1983. They lived in Oregon City for many years, where they hosted family gatherings, including Easter egg hunts & Halloween parties.

On retirement, Wayne and Louise moved to Molalla, and then to Woodburn Senior Estates.

Louise was full of energy and lived life with a passion. She loved the outdoors, sunny days, camping, gardening, crafting, sewing, and road trips. In the fall, she and Wayne would head to Arizona to play pickle ball, water volleyball, and golf. She was active in the social scene in her senior villages and made many friends.
