Veda Geraldine 'Gerry' Vistica passed away peacefully at her home on May 5, 2022, with her loving husband by her side. She was born February 10, 1925, to William Everett and Doris (Dovey) Workman Twitty at home near Wasola, MO. As a child the family moved around a lot, eventually ending up in Oregon where Gerry began a career working in payroll at the Oregon Journal newspaper in Portland.

After a near fatal surgery, she moved to Woodburn in 1956 to be close to family. It was there that she met the 'Love of her Life' , Carl 'Ivan' Vistica at the Fireman's Thanksgiving dance at the Woodburn Armory. On June 20, 1958, they were married at the Memorial Union Building on the Oregon State University Campus. They resided in Corvallis, and then Salem, OR until 1976 when they moved to their farm East of Woodburn.

Family was very important to Gerry, and countless family gatherings took place at the farm. She was a caring and generous Aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary for the nieces, nephews and their children and always wrote a note or letter in each one. In the fall of 2019, ill health prompted a move into the Assisted Living Facility at Country Meadows Village in Woodburn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Evelyn Leonhart; brothers, Norman and Daymond Twitty; and nephews Steven Vistica, Nick Vistica and Randy Twitty.

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 64 years, Ivan Vistica; brother, Gary Twitty of Springfield, Mo; and 24 nieces and nephews and their children. 'Aunt Gerry' was a very special person and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A private interment will take place at the Belle Passe Mausoleum at the 1000 block of Belle Passe Road in Woodburn, Oregon on June 25, 2022, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Woodburn Grange Hall, 891 N Settlemier Ave. Woodburn, Oregon at 12:00 noon for family and friends.
