Evelyn 'Carol' Mohning passed away at St. Peter's Hospital in Olympia, Wash., on January 2, 2020.

She was born in Independence, Ore, and is predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob) Henry Mohning. Carol & Bob married on March 16, 1951, in Canby, Ore. She is survived by her sisters Helen Marcey, Doris Lauer, and Dorothy Roberts; brother Frank Rose; daughter, Katie Mohning; son, Timothy Mohning; granddaughter, Katrina Ayala; great-granddaughter, Kara Rose Martinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol graduated from Canby High School in 1949 and always considered Canby home. She spent two years in Bermuda while Bob was in the Air Force. They raised their family in Auburn, Wash., before moving to Black Lake in Olympia in the early 1990's. She spent most of her life working for the credit department of Sears and the Bon Marche. With Bob she also coowned Cascade Awards, a ribbon, trophy, & engraving business. For fun after retirement, Carol worked at Costco as a food demonstrator for 11 years before finally retiring at age 84.

Carol was always very athletic, competing on adult bowling and soccer leagues. Later in life, she became very active as the Superintendent at both the King County and Washington State Fairs for the 4H horse department. Some of Carol's favorite things were family trips & get-togethers, flower gardening, shopping and playing the pennies at the casinos, as well as cheering on her favorite baseball team the Mariners. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Calvary Mennonite Church in Aurora at 1pm on Saturday March 21, 2020.
