Michael James Campbell
Michael James Campbell passed away on March 1, 2020 at home with his family surrounding him. He was 58.
Michael was born July 31, 1961 in Grants Pass, Oregon to Barry and Barbara Campbell. He spent his childhood in Oregon and Alaska where his father was a principle and his mother was a teacher. He graduated from Parkrose High School in Portland, Oregon in 1979.
In January 1996 he married Sheila Albright. They enjoyed many different interests like being with their whole family, traveling, sewing projects, the next adventure, working in the garden and just being together.
Michael's greatest joy was teaching elementary school. He taught for 30 years. He went back to school and got his masters' in education. He also enjoyed being a wrestling coach. He was the head coach at Molalla High School for 15 years. His other joy was cooking. He started cooking at 15 and worked in many different restaurants but for the last few years he cooked at The Oregon Golf Club in West Linn, Oregon. He had such a love for life.
Michael is survived by his wife Sheila; sons, Jason (Debbie), Chad (Tammy), Travis (Kristen), and Brett (Melissa); his mother Barbara; sister Kim (Don); brother Doug (Tish); 15 grand kids; 2 great-grand kids; mother in law Chris; sister in law Sheryl (Ken); 7 nephews; 4 nieces; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father Barry.
His celebration of life will be held Sunday March 15, 2020 at the Molalla High School Auditorium in Molalla, Oregon at 1:00 pm. There will be refreshments to follow. Michael's wish was for it to be casual in dress, like he would see you out and about.
