John George McKee, age 97, of Newberg, Oregon died peacefully on Friday July 14, 2017.
He was born May 7, 1920 in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania to John Milo and Jennie (Beatty) George. After the death of his father his mother married George Robert McKee and John adopted his step-father's surname. He soon had a brother, Joseph William McKee. The family moved from Pennsylvania to Pittsburg, California where John graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1938.

He was hired by Pan American Airways and serviced flying boats on the Kiribati Island of Canton during WWII. He returned to California and married Elizabeth Ruth Fellow on November 27, 1943. They enjoyed 70 years of marriage.
He became a flight engineer with Pan American and flew all over the world in that capacity. His job caused him to reside in New York, Washington State and California. He always loved to talk to people and was generous with his time and resources to help family, friends and neighbors.
