Kathleen Lenore Van Keuren Charboneau
Kathleen was born to Alice Mirnetta Newman and Edward Van Keuren on November 20, 1922 in Beloit, Wisconsin. She attended Muldoon Catholic High School. In October of 1942 she married Arthur Dale Charboneau and together they had seven children.
She is survived by her children, Arthur Dale Jr. of Portland, Ore., Carol Beth of Canby, Ore., Joseph H. of Cleveland, Ohio, Mary Alice of Santa Cruz, Calif., and John Michael Charboneau of Tigard, Ore. Kathleen was preceded in death by two sons, James Edward and Richard Louis. She was blessed with 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family moved to Santa Clara, Calif. Where Kathy worked for the telephone company for many years before finding employement with Kaiser. She worked at Kaiser for 28 years until she retired. In 1988 Kathy moved to Canby, where she enjoyed working with her daughter, Carol and granddaughter, Mary Beth at Rite Aid. She retired from Rite Aid at age 86.
Kathy enjoyed many friends and family activities such as bingo, trips to Spirit Mountain, and watching her children and grandchildren's sporting and school activities. She was an avid baseball fan but also enjoyed watching the Olympics and various sporting events. She also loved crossword puzzles, a good cup of coffee, and Sunday drives with root beer floats and dairy ripples! She was known to have hauled in a few fish in her day as well. She was an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and was devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary and even made a pilgrimage to Medjugorje, Bosnia. Kathy passed away peacefully in her sleep with family by her side in the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary August 15, 2019.
