Wayne W. Russell
Wayne died January 16, 2020 in his Aurora, Ore. home. He was born to Ward and Nellie Russell on May 29, 1930 in Salem, and later moved to Aurora.
He served in the Navy during the Korean War, after the war he moved to his Aurora farm where he started his family and built the farm where he worked his entire life.
He married Winona Arms on November 6, 1954 and together they raised their 3 children on their farm.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, clam digging and sharing his love for the outdoors with his entire family.
He was a member of the Canby Rod and Gun Club, American Legion and in the past was a member of the Lions Club and served on the Canby School Board.
He is survived by his children, daughter Diane (Paul) Staehely; sons Loy (Kim) Russell and Ken (Patti) Russell; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and his bird hunting dog Freckles.
Funeral services will be held at Simon-Cornwell Colonial Chapel in Woodburn on Friday January 24, 2020 at 10am with reception to follow at Canby Rod and Gun Club in Canby at 12:00pm. Please refer to their website www.cornwellcolonial.com for additional information.
