Lillian Harriet Ingalls, 95, of Canby, Ore. passed away Friday, January 3, 2020. She was born October 17, 1924 in Carpio, N.D., where she was primarily raised. Lillian attended Minot State Teachers College in 1943. She was married Sept. 10, 1945 to Leland L. Ingalls in Sidney, Mont. Lillian taught all eight grades in a one-room school on a North Dakota prairie. In 1954, she and Leland moved to Canby, Ore. where they lived for more than 60 years.
Lillian was a member of Zoar Lutheran Church for 66 years. She taught Sunday school in the 1960s-70s. Lillian was also an advisor of Luther League in the 1960s-70s. She was a fabulous quilter, lefsa maker, chocolate chip cookie baker and seamstress.
Lillian is survived by her husband, Leland L. Ingalls of Canby; son, Steven L. Ingalls of Oregon City; daughter-in-law, Sandra S. Ingalls of Oregon City; son, Roger A. Ingalls of Aurora, Ore.; brother, Gordon Solem of Bullhead City, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Janice Solem of Bullhead City; brother, John Solem of Garrison, N.D.; sister, Julia Geyer of Minot, N.D.; numerous nieces and nephews, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Darol A. Ingalls, Ruby Flaten, and Irwin Solem.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Zoar Lutheran Church, 190 SW Third Ave., Canby OR.
