Lyle Albert Pierce
Lyle passed away February 13, 2021 at the age of 85. Lyle was born in Fullerton, Nebraska. He joined the U.S. Army where he made use of his mechanical skills. After the service he entered U.S. Trade School for heavy equipment mechanic which became his trade as well as sales and service. His job put him on the road for most of his life in the Western U.S. and Canada. He worked for Ernie Graham Oil after his retirement.
Lyle loved his family and his church family - Canby Christian Church and Canby Foursquare Church since 1974. He belonged to a Life Group Bible study and Tuesday Men's Bible study. He was very active volunteering at the Canby Center, Winema Christian Camp in Cloverdale, Young Life, and Prime timers at the Foursquare Church. He loved hunting, hiking, mountain climbing, and traveling.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Donna; two sons, Craig T Pierce and Steven D Pierce; four grandsons, Justin, Jeremiah, Cassidy, Kyler Pierce; one granddaughter, Michelle Johnson; two sisters, Evelyn Proctor from Missouri and Lois Debelly from Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Clara Pierce of Fullerton, Nebraska; sisters Sara Sharp of Florida and Susan Pierce of Zuni, New Mexico.
Lyle was born without electricity on the family farm, and died without electricity during Canby's ice storm.
