June 20, 1954 to December 19, 2020 - Lifelong Canby resident, Richard Lee Peterson (Bubba), passed away at his home

Rick was born June 20, 1954, to Ronald and Donna Peterson in Oregon City, Oregon. Rick was the oldest of four boys. He attended and graduated from, Canby Union High School in 1972, and enlisted in the Navy as a Seabee. During his time in the Navy he traveled to Italy, Guam and the Philippines. After leaving the Navy, Rick returned to Canby, and worked at Plywood Equipment Sales (PES) in Portland. He met, and married his wife Ginger in 1980, becoming a father to their three oldest children before having their youngest child in 1981. Rick then went to work for Nagl Floor Covering in Aurora where he could utilize his knowledge of construction and building. He remained a wellloved fixture at Nagl's for 35 years.

All who knew Rick knew his great loves of: family, fishing, hunting, Christmas, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a big man with a gentle heart who loved to share his stories with his friends and family. Once you were Rick's friend, you were his family.

His greatest love was for his kids and grandkids. Especially his grandkids. They were a constant source of pride for him and are his greatest legacy.

Preceding Rick in death are his Father, Ronald Peterson, Step-Father, Bill Nagl, and Granddaughter, Gracy Cushman. He is survived by his wife Ginger Peterson; their four children, Joe Peterson (Audra), Daylyn Peterson, Elizabeth Carson-Hall (Daniel) and Amanda Cushman (Daniel). Rick is also survived by his grandchildren: Larz Young, Shanda Young, Serenity Peterson, Kellin Peterson, Taylor Ackerson, Tessa Hall, Kaitlin Carson, Zachary Carson, Christian Hall, Jackson Hall, and Johnathan Cushman; his Mother, Donna Peterson-Nagl, Step-Mother, Joy Peterson, his brothers; Mike Peterson, Tim Peterson (Roxann) and Tate (Gary) Peterson (Brenda); and many cherished nieces and nephews.

A military burial will be held at Willamette National Cemetery on February 26, 2021, at 2 p.m. A Celebration of Rick's life is also being planned for later this year. Please contact family for more details.
