Pam Carlson, at age 81, entered eternal life in the presence of her Lord and Savior October 2, 2021.
Pam was born in Portland, Ore. She graduated from Beaverton High School and then attended Oregon State University. While finishing her degree at Portland State, she worked for Alpenrose Dairy where she met her husband Jerry Carlson. After graduation she taught Special Ed for Portland Public Schools and then completed her Masters Degree in Counseling.
Together with their son Eric they welcomed into their hearts and home 23 foster children. Pam accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a Billy Graham Crusade in 1968. Throughout the rest of her life Pam shared her love and strong faith in God with many. She was also able to help through her counseling involvement in Good Samaritan Ministries and My Brothers Keeper Counseling. Pam helped co-found a Women's Aglow Fellowship in Tigard Oregon and then another in the SanJuan Islands at Friday Harbor. She and her husband developed the Summerland Inn on the California coast and Pam thrived in providing breakfast for the guests. Pam had a love of "Teddy Bears" both old and new. She was an artist and the creator of "A Bear and Friends." Pam will be missed but her love lives in our hearts. Her bears, compassion for others, and love of the Lord are our memorable companions.
Pam is survived by her husband and life companion; their adopted son, Ralph, and many nieces and nephews.
We can model her life as our daily inspiration with the Christian compassion, love and forgiveness she shared with all around her. Pam has been my wife of 62 years, my companion, my prayer warrior, my counselor, my lover and has supported me at my lowest lows and rejoiced with me in all our life endeavors. I will miss her so much.
