Doris Jean Blakeley
Doris was the third of four children born to Henry and Dorothy Colvin. She worked on the family farm and attended Canby schools. They owned the property which is now Fir Point Farms. Her grandfather had a campground along the Pudding River during the 1920s and 30s where Pat's Acres is now located. She loved to tell stories of her childhood and her big family.
Upon graduation from high school, Doris married and moved to the Whiskey Hill area, where she raised her 5 children. When they were older, she started a florist business out of her home, eventually owning a flower and gift shop in Canby. Doris loved music, singing, and dancing. She was an active church member, singing in choirs, visiting shut ins, and decorating for holidays. Her yard was always a show place. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family.
Doris was preceded in death by her brother Ward Colvin; and her granddaughter Lavender Cranson. Doris is survived by her sisters Lucy Bailey and Marilyn Fisher; her children: Laura Cranson, Greg Lenhardt (Nancy), Sara Cole (Jim), David Lenhardt, and Darryl Lenhardt (Amy); 18 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
