Eileen Christina Prather (Jacobson)
Eileen Christina Prather (Jacobson), 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep July 3, 2019 in Prineville, Oregon. She was born Dec. 25, 1932 in Las Animas, Colorado, the daughter of James and Jessie Jacobson.
She grew up on a farm on the Arkansas River before moving to Ulysses, Kansas, and then Sunnyside, Washington, where she graduated high school. Eileen moved to Seattle, worked as a clerk at King County Hospital, and was married to Kenneth A. Prather in 1952 until his passing in 1998.
They lived in Lynnwood, Washington, for nearly 40 years where Ken was a Seattle policeman and later a computer programmer. Both were Organic Master Gardeners.
Eileen was a loving and devoted housewife, mother, grandmother and faithful friend. She will be missed by her many family members and friends and is at peace with her Lord and Savior.
She is survived by her three children, Susan (Allen), Martin (Michelle) and Jonathan; as well as grandchildren, Eric and Ryan. She is also survived by nieces, Jeanne, Barbara, Nadine, Teresa, and Renee; nephews, Rick, Jim, Laurence, Lowell, Harold, Jr., and Roger and sister-in-law, Pat.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Ruby Cone, Annabel Jackman and Florence Chase; and nephew, Richard.
A family-only graveside service is scheduled at Hilltop Cemetery in Independence, Oregon.
