Lois Elaine Bristow was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Aug. 8 1932. Lois passed peacefully, Aug. 1, 2019, one week before her 87th birthday.
Her family moved to Portland, Oregon when Lois was about 8 years old.
Lois worked in banking most of her early adulthood in Oregon and North Carolina, moving to Prineville in 1972, when Lois began various types of career paths. She drove school bus for many years for the Crook County School District and enjoyed the kids, their families and driving sporting events and field trips. Lois worked as the circulation manager for the Central Oregonian for most of her years in Prineville. Upon retiring, Lois moved to Redmond and "volunteered" at her daughter Shannon's property management company beginning in 1996 and they remained side by side until her 80th birthday in 2012.
Lois enjoyed outdoors, hunting, fishing, traveling, watching Duck football with her son-in-law and especially classic car shows. She enjoyed working hard and patronizing with her community.
She is survived by her son-in-law and daughter, Ryck and Shannon Smith of Terrebonne; one sister, Eveleth Hash/Webber, age 97, from Salem, and various nieces and nephews in the Portland area.
She will always be remembered for her loving and generous heart, her enormous smile and willingness to help anyone she met.
