She met her husband, Leon Harrison Barber, in 1940 and they were married the same year. They lived in La Canada where she worked at a dry cleaners with her lifetime friend Margaret Darling. She enjoyed many, many years of friendship with George and Leona Web, who she continued to stay in contact with until she got her angel wings. She liked to camp and fish, enjoying the outdoors. She also enjoyed spending time with all her nieces and nephews remembering all the old good times.
Elizabeth lived in many towns in Southern California. In Thousand Oaks, she was a supervisor at Semtech until she retired in 1990, at which time she and her husband joined the rest of the family in Central Oregon, where they had come to visit on their vacations.
Elizabeth loved fishing and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, who she loved spoiling. In her later years, she enjoyed playing the slot machines whenever she had the chance.
She was preceded in passing by her husband, mother, father, stepfather, stepmother, all her siblings and her daughter, Bonnie Lee Brooks; her grandson, Brian Scott Wilson, and great-grandson, Scotty Michael Ledford.
