Louise was born in Glen Elder, Kansas, to William Shoemaker and Louise (Buckenhorst) Shoemaker.
The family moved to Prineville when Louise was three years old. She spent all her school years in Prineville, where she graduated.
Louise met and married husband, Byron Johnson, in 1980. Together, they served as President and Vice-President of Prineville American Legion. Louise also tended bar for many years at the Pastime in Prineville. She took her pet hedgehog to work with her, and she soon became known as "the hedgehog lady."
One of her favorite pastimes was making quilts. At one time she and her husband took many quilts to Washington, giving with much joy to family members.
Louise was proceeded in death by husband, Byron; mother, Louise Shoemaker; father, William Shoemaker; seven brothers and sisters; and two children, Neva and Raymon.
She is survived by her son, Les; and caring neighbors.
