CENTRAL OREGONIAN - John (Jack) SeleyOn August 10, 2022, John (Jack) Seley died at his home in Fruitland, Idaho. Jack was 85 years old.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ann Seley; his sister, Betty; and his beloved wife, Winifred.

Mr. Seley is survived by his children; daughter, Mary and son, Jim; and his sister, Bonnie.

Jack was born on January 7, 1937, in Moorhead, Minnesota. He graduated from high school in McMinnville, Oregon and went on to attend Oregon State College.

Jack married Winifred (Win) Kellberg in 1959. He was introduced to Win by his sister, Betty, in 1957. Jack met his future wife, Win, while home in McMinnville from college for Thanksgiving. Jack was a Beaver and Win was a Duck (college info). This caused their friends much angst. They obviously resolved the issue and remained inseparable for the rest of their lives. They welcomed children, Mary in 1964 and Jim in 1967.

Jack worked for the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for 35 years. He retired from that service in May 1992.

Jack and Win moved to Prineville, Oregon from Reno, Nevada after his retirement. They loved their lives in Prineville, with Win sharing her concert pianist skills with everyone and Jack delighting in stirring up issues in city government and eventually becoming a City councilman.

Jack and Win loved Prineville with all their hearts and both will be sorely missed.
