Vincent Liguore

January 1, 1955 to November 22, 2018

Vincent Charles Liguore was born on New Year's Day, 1955. He died peacefully at home in Lake Oswego, Oregon, on Thanksgiving Day, 2018.

The son of Tony and Ruby Liguore, Vince was born in Bakersfield, Calif. and graduated from West High, in 1973. He attended UCLA for both undergraduate and Dental School. There he met his future wife, Brenda, 43 years ago. They moved to Camarillo, Calif. where Vince started his dental practice and their sons Sean, Conor and Will were born. The family moved to Lake Oswego, Oregon in 1996.

Vince loved serving his community, treating patients in his dental practice in Hillsdale and coaching his sons' many sports teams. Diagnosed with amyloidosis nearly 10 years ago, Vince was the grateful recipient of heart transplant which allowed him to survive to see his three sons graduate from college, marry and begin their families. Despite a difficult journey as his health deteriorated, Vince served as an associate professor at the OHSU School of Dentistry. He found it a privilege to share his knowledge with new dentists and was honored to have been elected Instructor of the Year by his students. Vince loved the outdoors, hiking and skiing and in recent years enjoyed carpentry and tending his garden.

Vince will be remembered as a kind, loyal and loving family man. He was happily married for 36 years. He was extremely proud of his sons whom he was grateful to have seen married to wonderful women. He delighted in his role of Papa to his three grandchildren. He loved all his extended family and friends.

Vince was preceded in death by his sister, Sherlyn and father, Tony Liguore. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Sweetnam Liguore; sons Sean, Conor and Will Liguore; daughters-in-law Andreanna, Lauren and Laura Liguore; grandchildren Madison, Giuliana and Dakota Vincent Liguore; mother, Ruby Liguore; and siblings Gail Liguore, Kathleen Tuckey and Kevin Liguore.

A private interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Portland. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 2 at 10 a.m. at Christ Church Episcopal Parish, 1060 Chandler Road, Lake Oswego, OR 97034.

We are grateful to all his care givers at OHSU, his family and friends for their ongoing love and support.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that remembrances in memory of Vincent Liguore be directed to the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, C/O the OHSU Foundation, Mail Stop 45 PO Box 4000, Portland, OR 97208-9852.
