Longtime Lake Oswego resident Richard Reimer died March 10, 2019. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 5 at the Chapel of the Holy Names at Mary's Woods.

October 2, 1935 to March 10, 2019

Richard Carlisle Reimer, 83, of Lake Oswego, Ore., passed away peacefully on March 10, 2019. He was born in Alameda, Calif. on October 2, 1935. A single child to his lovely parents, Carl and Mabel Reimer. Richard attended St. Joseph Elementary and graduated in 1953 from St. Joseph of Notre Dame High School. Then in 1958 he received his bachelor's degree from the University of San Francisco in business administration. After meeting on a post-graduation tour in Europe, he married Martha Clotilde Freyre on Nov. 3, 1963. He was drafted and served a two year commitment in the United States Army as a chaplain's assistant at Fitzsimons Hospital in Denver, Colo. After his military service, he began a 30-year career with the Gilmore Steel Company. It was with the steel industry that he accepted a transfer and moved his family to Lake Oswego, Ore. Richard was a man of strong Catholic faith, had a passion for all sports, and loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his daughters, Carla (Sam) Pope and Claudia (Mike) Marshall; as well as his four grandchildren, George Pope, Laura Pope, Andrew Marshall and Enrique Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Friday, April 5, 2019 at the Chapel of the Holy Names at Mary's Woods, 17400 Holy Names Drive, Lake Oswego, Ore. 97034 In lieu of flowers please send gifts in memory of Richard Reimer '53 to St. Joseph of Notre Dame High School, attention: Vicki; 1011 Chestnut St., Alameda, CA 94501.
