Lake Oswego resident Alfred 'Al' Sturr died March 15, 2019. Services will be held at 11 a.m. March 30 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Oswego.

Alfred "Al" Sturr was born May 2, 1937 to Colonel Alfred Sturr Sr. and Kathleen Sturr in Owensboro, Ken., where his father was briefly stationed while in the military. Al attended Deer Field Academy in Massachusetts, Miami University in Florida, and graduate school at Columbia University in New York. After graduation he migrated west and worked for GTE Linkert and various other hi-tech and financial services companies. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patricia "Pat;" son Jeffrey Sturr and his wife Melanie; their five sons and four great-grandchildren. Al passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019 after having fallen and broken his neck on January 28, 2019; he was also battling cancer. He was a gentle and kind soul who blessed the lives of many. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Oswego. A vigil and rosary will commence just prior at 10:30 a.m. A reception will be held in the church hall immediately following the service
