Kathleen L. Jacobson
August 3, 1947 to May 10, 2019
On Friday, May 10, 2019, Kathleen (Kathy) Jacobson, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at the age of 71. Kathy was born Aug. 3, 1947 in Oakland, Calif. to Alvin and Barbara Johnson. She married William (Bill) Jacobson Feb. 9, 1974. Shortly thereafter they moved to Bellevue, Wash., where they were blessed with two beautiful children, Gregory and Amanda. The last 31 years were spent in West Linn, Ore., where their children grew into adulthood. Summer excursions with family and friends often took them to Lowman, Idaho where she and her husband designed and built a cabin along the South Fork of the Payette River. Kathy had a passion for reading, cooking, and a multitude of arts and crafts endeavors. She would read up to four books in a week; her cooking recipes, canned treats, and Christmas chocolates will forever be favorites among family members and friends alike. Her kind demeanor, gentle understanding, infectious laugh, and love for children is part of the legacy she has left at Cedaroak Park Primary School in West Linn where she held various positions— including school secretary — for 20+ years. Kathy was preceded in death by her father Alvin Johnson; and is survived by her mother, Barbara Johnson; her husband, Bill; her two children, Gregory (and his wife Tessa), and Amanda (and her husband Nick Guidice); her brother Steve Johnson (and his wife Laura); grandchildren, Peyton Guidice and Carter Guidice; and several cousins, nephews and a niece. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Oswego. In lieu of flowers or donation, it was Kathy's wishes — and those of the family — that you take a loved one out to dinner and give a thought, or better yet, a toast to Kathy, if so inclined.
