Kathleen (Kathy) Kay Law was born in Tucson, AZ to Kay Ying & Laura Bertha Law. She passed from this life to be with her Lord after a long battle with congestive heart failure in Portland, OR.
Kathy met her husband Fred Sakaguchi at church in Portland, OR. They were married on June 15, 1957 and started a family 4 years later with 2 children. Kathy did work outside the home, but spent most of her time as a mother and homemaker. Fred and Kathy were fortunate to celebrate 62 years of marriage just days before her passing.
Kathy's love extended beyond her family as evident by her and Fred's involvement at Chinese Baptist Church as High School Youth leaders. She served as deaconess and helped found Chinese Faith Baptist Church. She loved music and sang special music at both churches.
Many people knew Kathy for her love of baking, especially cookies and cakes. Kathy was also a talented cook and was known for her ability to whip up better than restaurant quality food without a recipe or exact measurements. She was also a gifted seamstress. She would stay up late making baby rompers with custom appliques or hand paintings.
Kathy had a kind smile and the biggest heart. She is survived by her husband Fred; daughter Laura (David Bossen) Sakaguchi; son Stephen (Joann) Sakaguchi; grandchildren Selena Zou (Steven Yang), Micah Sakaguchi, Kendon Sakaguchi; brother-in-law, H (Emma) Sakaguchi; niece, Teresa Sakaguchi; and other relatives too numerous to mention.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Chinese Faith Baptist Church, 1595 Greentree Rd, Lake Oswego, OR 97034.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chinese Faith Baptist Church.
