FAITH, FAMILY, FRIENDS
With much sadness, the family of Christine Anne Wilcox Davis shares with her friends and community of her passing on July 23, 2019 of complications from cancer. She was excited to see her children and friends, and she expressed how each day was so special … the best day ever. She told us that she had a full loving life.
One cannot sum up Chris' life in a few paragraphs. She was an incredible wife, mother and friend. She was sweet, fun-loving, smart, enthusiastic, giving and positive. She had an inquiring spirit with a love of life. She knew how to enjoy herself, taking special trips or golfing with her husband, dancing, conversing with her many friends, or laughing with her children and grandchildren. Her nickname was "Sunny Bubbles."
Chris' family was her greatest achievement. She loved and respected each of them, and they loved and respected her, and they showed it often. She felt fulfilled.
Chris grew up in Portland where she attended Holy Family and St. Mary's Academy. She met her husband, Tom, at Oregon State, starting a partnership of life that lasted 44 years. She taught high school health for 12 years with the Portland Public Schools, spent eight years doing accounting for her husband's law firm, served eight years as a special court investigator for Guardianships, then went back to school to obtain her interior design credentials. She enjoyed volunteering with CASA and Meals on Wheels.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her name to the Keck School of Medicine, 1975 Zonal Ave, KAM B16, L.A., CA. 90033 for cancer research; CASA, 187 High St. NE #210, Salem, OR 97301; or Meals on Wheels, 505 G St., Lake Oswego, OR 97034.
Her survivors include husband Tom; daughter Claire (Spencer, Bianca); son Mike (Kelsie, Elanore) and daughter Kim (Melissa, Jayden); and many, many friends, all of whom will deeply miss her.
All her friends are invited to join us on Aug. 3, 2019 at Our Lady of the Lake in Lake Oswego at 11 a.m. to recognize Chris. A casual reception will follow at Harvest on Westlake Drive from 4 to 7 p.m. to raise the roof as Chris did so well.
