May 16, 1940 to July 23, 2019
Sharon Lynn (Mayhew) Plumb, age 79, passed away peacefully at home in Lake Oswego, Ore. on July 23, 2019 in the company of her closeknit family concluding her courageous and aggressive 15-year fight with breast cancer.
Sharon was born May 16, 1940 in Santa Maria, Calif. to Paul and Lucille (Winkler) Mayhew and was the youngest of three children. She grew up in Ventura, Calif., where she met Donald Frederick Plumb in 1958. After obtaining her degree and teaching credential in San Francisco, the happy couple married in 1964. Sharon taught home economics in Southern California for six years. Sharon and Don followed opportunity and moved to Portland, Ore. in 1968 as she focused on raising three fantastic children while enjoying volunteering with Girl Scouts, Lake Oswego School District, Portland Art Museum, Multnomah County Medical Auxiliary, and Lakewood Center for the Arts, where she served on the board of directors. While actively pursuing cooking and floral design, she was especially passionate about her nine grandchildren and her beautiful garden, which was featured in both regional and national magazines.
The Sharon and Don "team" recently celebrated 55 years of loving marriage. She and Don were committed to the Horseless Carriage Club of America where they frequently participated in local and national car tours.
Sharon led a tremendous life of service and love. She is survived by her husband; three children and their spouses, Heather (Plumb) and John Bogaty, Jason and Jenna (Witort) Plumb, and Abigail (Plumb) and Todd Eliason; nine grandchildren, Taylor, Jill, and Jack Bogaty, Tessa and Hannah Plumb, Cameron and Gabriel Massey, and Noah and Avery Eliason; two siblings, Larry and Marilyn; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
