Morgan Kaye

April 7, 1998 to August 26, 2019

A much beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and many friends all around the world, Morgan Nicole Kaye left this world so unexpectedly in the early morning hour of August 26, 2019. She was born in Berkeley Calif., on April 7, 1998 to Gary and Brenda, the "B" baby to her twin brother Justin. Her older brother Devin was ecstatic to finally see his new baby sister. We moved to Lake Oswego when Morgan was eight and as was her style, she developed lifelong friends here. She was a graduate of Lakeridge HS in 2016 and was looking forward to returning to school as a senior at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada.

Morgan's heart was so big and so full of many special friends; from her friendship group in Lake Oswego, to her college friends at UBC, to her river raft friends, to the new friends she made while doing her study abroad program this past year. At college, she was involved in the BEST Engineering program, the Ski and Board Club, the Surf Club and a Vegan Food Club and had even tried out a sorority for a year. She so enjoyed her freedom in living with her roommates, absolutely embracing college life!! She loved hiking, traveling and trying new adventures.

She was an avid snowboarder and while inFrance, she learned to ski. The day after she graduated from high school, she was on a plane to Europe and she hasn't stopped traveling since. During her study abroad program she managed to visit Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, Egypt and London. Her summer job for the past two years was working as a river raft guide in Maupin.

Morgan had the most beautiful smile that could light up your soul. She will be SO deeply missed by everyone she crossed paths with.

A Celebration of Morgan's Life will be held on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019 at the Oswego Hills Winery from 1– 4 p.m. A special tribute to Morgan will take place at 2 p.m. The address is 450 S. Rosemont Road, West Linn, OR 97068.

There were so many things that made Morgan happy and one of them was her love for the outdoors. As many of you know, in 2018 she hiked Mt. Kilimanjaro. In 2019, while doing her study abroad program in France, she did many smaller hikes; from the Alps in Austria, the Matterhorn in Switzerland, to the Dolomites in Italy. In 2020, she was planning on hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada (2,660 miles). Many of you have asked how to honor Morgan, so if you feel the desire, contributions can be made in her honor to the Pacific Crest Trail Association in Morgan's name, Morgan Nicole Kaye.
