Donald D. Braas
February 3, 1923 to November 10, 2019
Donald Duval Braas was born in Los Angeles to Don Ira and Elizabeth Tschirgi Braas.
He served as a Naval Ensign in WWII, later graduating from USC as an engineer. He sold his Harley to buy an engagement ring, married Martha Sue Davis on Nov. 26, 1947 and moved to Oregon in 1950.
Don was a born salesman, starting his own automotive rep company (Braas-Creech). His customers became lifelong friends. His charismatic personality and beautiful smile could light up a room.
Don and Sue raised their family in Lake Oswego, where they joined OLCC and became avid golfers.
His passions were restoring classic cars and watching football and baseball.
After retirement they spent winters in Manzanillo, Mexico. Sue died in 2003, the day after throwing a surprise 80th birthday party for him.
Don died in Mexico leaving his family with many great memories. Survivors include children Janice Hansen (Brad), Tracey Anthony (Bill), and Bob Braas, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
