It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our son and brother, Carson James Bride on June 23, 2020. He was born early Thanksgiving morning on November 27, 2003, in Portland, Oregon.
Carson had just completed his sophomore year at Riverdale High School where he participated in soccer, drama, site council, and robotics. In the winters, Carson showed his compassion and caring by teaching skiing at Mt. Hood where he patiently guided children with no previous experience to progress around the mountain. He was fun and everyone wanted to be in Carson's ski class. He was an avid video game player and greatly enjoyed perfecting his card deck to compete in Magic the Gathering tournaments with his friends at Other World Games. Carson enjoyed exploring the world with us and helped plan our recent trips to Japan, South Korea, and China.
Carson had an infectious smile that would brighten everyone's day. He was creative, caring, brilliant, and honest with comedic charm. Carson's warmth, energy, and desire for social interaction and friendship were unyielding. He added spice to our lives that will be deeply and forever missed.
Carson is survived by his parents Tom and Kristin Bride and brother Jack, as well as Sadie, his favorite English Bulldog. A private celebration of life service for Carson will be held at a later date. Carson's final wishes were that donations be made to the local teen suicide hotline www.oregonyouthline.org/donate so that in Carson's words, other teens would "live to see another day."
