SUBMITTED PHOTO - James Alexander PoloniJames Alexander Poloni of Lake Oswego, Oregon unexpectedly passed away Tuesday December 29, 2020 at the age of 74. Jim was born in Southport, England to Ethel (a British citizen) and William Poloni (a U.S. soldier) in 1946. He came to the United States as a baby and lived in Siskiyou County with his parents and three siblings. As the eldest, Jim took on many of the responsibilities around their family business and farm.

Jim was drafted into the US Army in 1966 and stationed in Germany. After returning home, he graduated with a degree in business from Cal State, Sacramento starting his lifelong career in pharmaceuticals with Mead Johnson Nutritional, Bristol Myers Squibb.

He decided to follow his dream of entrepreneurial business ownership by purchasing an MRINetwork franchise in 1990 focused on executive recruiting in the pharmaceutical, banking, telecommunications, and IT industries. In 2018, he founded his independent search firm, Cascadia Search Group. His business legacy lives on through countless lives improved through the Cascadia Search Group's recruitment efforts and his mentorship of numerous employees and colleagues through the network.

Jim's passion for helping children led him to the Albertina Kerr Foundation where he volunteered many hours to fundraising efforts and helping to plan housing for those they supported. As an avid outdoorsman, Jim enjoyed fishing, most recently in Alaska with his son Chad and golfing with his wife Jennifer and son Nick. He and Jennifer built strong memories traveling alone and with their family, including his daughters Lori and Michelle and their families. In recent years you would often see Jim walking through downtown Lake Oswego with his beloved Aussiedoodle, Nugget.

If you knew Jim, you would call him a friend. Dependable and always there when needed, Jim made people feel welcomed and had a strong sense of humor. Above all, Jim's family was what he held most dear. His lifelong goal was to make sure his family was well cared for and supported. Jim had a special bond unique to each of his children and grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his wife and partner of 29 years, Jennifer Poloni. He is also survived by his children Lori Poloni Staudinger (Reinhold Staudinger) and Michelle Poloni from his first wife (Kathy Poloni-Disario), Nick Poloni, Chad Poloni; and his three grandchildren, Hannah Staudinger, Liam Staudinger and Allie Swonger. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Delano Thompson (Rose Thompson).

Due to the current pandemic, the immediate family is having a private service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jim's name to the Albertina Kerr foundation at
