Ted was born August 9, 1947 in Portland, Oregon. He attended Forest Hill Elementary School, LO Junior High and LO High Schools. He graduated in 1965. At Oregon State University, he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
After graduation from OSU, Ted earned a certification in Landscape Architecture at University of Oregon. He was in the National Guard for 6 years during the Vietnam War. Ted worked for the Seattle Parks Department and retired as a Senior Landscape Architect.
He is remembered for his wonderful smile, lovely gardens, fabulous dinner parties, love of antiques, cats, and world traveling. Ted will be missed.
For the past 7 years, he lived in Merida. He is survived by his husband Gil Ballard; sister Monica Honegger; nieces Jessica Hodgin and Janna Honegger; stepsisters Sandy Desmond- Reay, Kathy Matson; and stepbrother Geoff Lewis.
