Leona Grant Reimer
Leona Grant Reimer passed away on June 16, 2018 with family by her side. Leona was born in Belcourt, N.D. on May 27, 1927. She lived most of her adult life in Oregon, specifically in Salem, Madras and Wilsonville.
On June 23, 1963, Leona married Marlin Reimer. They celebrated 55 years together. Leona's five children include: Leona (Patrick) Green, Margaret (Gary) Dickson (both deceased), Andrew Connor, Julia (Brian) Connor- Dunlap and Marc (Christine) Reimer. Leona leaves a legacy of 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Leona was an active participant in many aspects of life - educating children, spending the winters inArizona, attending Duck football games, playing bridge, quilting, knitting scarves and enjoying her many friends. Her home will be remembered as a warm, welcoming gathering place for friends and family.
Leona worked for the Lake Grove Primary School as an educational assistant, for the Jefferson County Extension Agency and for the Warm Springs tribe. Leona's extraordinary determination and understanding of the purpose of a life of serving others led her and Marlin to become founding members of the Community of Hope Lutheran Church in Wilsonville. They served in many church ministries and left that legacy of love and service to her children and family.
Her determination, zest for life and personal warmth will be remembered by her family and friends. Her energy, enthusiasm and sense of humor will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A service will be held on June 2, 2018 at Community of Hope Luteran Church, 27817 SW Stafford Road, Wilsonville, OR 97070.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Family Kids Camp, Community of Hope Lutheran Church.
