The Highlights

Avirey Durdahl: Avirey Durdahl, a freshman quarterback on the Nelson football team, helped lift the first-year Hawks to their second straight win on Thursday, Oct. 7, a 28-7 victory over Reynolds at Nelson High School. In Nelson's win, Durdahl completed 11 of 16 passes for 194 yards with four touchdowns and one interception.

Gus Donnerberg: Gus Donnerberg, a sophomore tight end on the West Linn football team, made just three catches in his team's 28-27 win at Lakeridge on Friday, Oct. 8, but Donnerberg made them count big-time. His second catch was a 17-yard pickup on third-and-17, and his third was a 9-yard TD catch in the back of the end zone on a throw from sophomore quarterback Nick Sakys with just 22 seconds left in the game.

Joey Olsen: Joey Olsen, a sophomore wide receiver on the Lakeridge football team, did everything he could to help the Pacers in his team's 28-27 loss to West Linn at Lakeridge on Friday, Oct. 8. Olsen made just three catches, but racked up 154 yards on those three grabs, including a 60-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

Calvin Macy: Calvin Macy, a junior running back on the Lake Oswego football team, came through with 101 yards and one TD on 15 carries to help the Lakers knock off top-ranked Tualatin 35-26 at Tualatin High School on Friday, Oct. 8.

Blake Baker: Blake Baker, a junior quarterback on the Clackamas football team, made the most of every throw in his team's 48-14 win over Grant at Franklin High School on Friday, Oct. 8. Baker completed 9 of 18 passes for 161 yards in the game, including five touchdowns and one interception.

Ryder McElroy: Ryder McElroy, a junior defensive lineman on the Wilsonville football team, helped the Wildcats' defense contribute to its 54-0 rout of Forest Grove at Forest Grove High School on Friday, Oct. 8. McElroy recovered a Viking fumble and returned it 10 yards for a TD — part of the Wildcats' dominant 47-0 lead at the half.
