Jeremy Schumacher appointed to Gladstone School Board
On Oct. 28, the Gladstone School Board appointed Jeremy Schumacher, a pastor at Good Roots Community Church in Oak Grove, to fill a vacant board position.
Position 1 was left vacant when Nicole Vera-Vera Couzens resigned to accept a teaching position with the district at the beginning of the current school year. Schumacher was chosen after interviews with 11 applicants for the role.
Schumacher was born and raised near Strawberry Lane, just north of Gladstone city limits. He received his bachelor's degree from Multnomah Bible College.
"I am excited to serve on the school board," Schumacher said. "Developing the next generation has been my life's passion, and our schools are a vital component for our community to do that well."
Schumacher and his wife, Heather, spent seven years as full-time staff at Camp Tadmor, on a church-based property about a 100 miles south of Portland. They have four children attending Gladstone schools, including a fifth-grader, a sixth-grader and twins in eighth-grade.
