Black Friday (Nov. 29) to be first of seven busy shopping days affected at Town Center

Bus lines serving Clackamas Town Center will be detoured temporarily on seven busy shopping days, beginning on the afternoon of Black Friday.

TriMet hopes to decrease traffic delays by detouring the bus lines that normally travel through the mall's parking lot to reach the Clackamas Town Center Transit Center.

Between 1 and 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, bus stops at Clackamas Town Center next to the MAX station will be closed. The stop for buses arriving at Clackamas Town Center mall (ID 12921) will move to a temporary location on Driveway #3, which runs between the movie theater and Monterey Avenue.

Although bus detours will not affect MAX Green Line service and the Clackamas Town Center Transit Center MAX Station will remain open, buses will travel between Clackamas Town Center and the Fuller Road MAX Station to transfer passengers to the MAX Green Line.

Detours again will be in effect between 1 and 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 14-15; Saturday through Monday, Dec. 21-23; and Thursday, Dec. 26. Extra TriMet staff plan to be on site to help with direction and answer questions.

RAYMOND RENDLEMAN - Clackamas Town Center shopping mallTriMet officials say that during these service-adjustment periods, commuters should allow at least 15 extra minutes to make connections and transfers. Remember to dress for the weather, as the temporary stops do not have shelters.
