Chain that started in South Korea to open first Oregon outlet in Happy Valley area

Bonchon, the restaurant chain known for its Korean double-fried chicken and sauces, recently announced its newest planned location at the Clackamas Town Center, 12000 S.E. 82nd Ave.

Expected to open in August, this will be the first Bonchon restaurant in Oregon, adding to the nearly 100 national locations and more than 330 Bonchon restaurants around the world. The chain, which started in South Korea, plans 15 new restaurant openings this year in the United States.

Bonchon Happy Valley's 1,256-square-foot location will feature a full menu of Korean specialties including kimchi, bulgogi and japchae.

"We are excited that Bonchon continues to grow in popularity across the U.S.," CEO Flynn Dekker said. "In Korean, Bonchon means 'my hometown' and how appropriate for us to share our hometown experience in the bustling and vibrant area of Happy Valley."
