Church renovates staff room at Wetten Elementary; Vendors sought for health fair

When New Life Church (formerly Gladstone First Baptist) was in search of a service project, they called John Wetten Elementary to ask what was New Life Church volunteers Linda Newbloom, Katy Nicholson, Debbie Tuneberg and Karen Tobin helped renovate the staff room at John Wetten Elementary. Albert Roy, not pictured, did the painting.needed.

"We've been wanting to renovate our staff room for years," said Principal Wendy Wilson. "This was the perfect gift, and our team is thrilled with how it turned out."

A team of five New Life volunteers painted and decorated the room. Then they cleaned, restocked, and reorganized the cupboards and set up a coffee cart.

"It was so much fun," said project organizer Katy Nicholson, the church secretary. "I love organizing and decorating, and we all really enjoyed serving together."

Vendors sought for health fair

Clackamas Community College seeks health and wellness vendors for its healthy living fair from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at its Oregon City campus, 19600 Molalla Ave.

The healthy living fair aims to engage students and staff with health-related information and provide health and wellness resources from the community. Past fairs have featured local fitness centers, nutrition and supplement vendors, medical professionals, health coaches, massage therapists and naturopaths.

Vendor tables are free of charge, but advance notice of participation is required. To register for a table, contact CCC's Student Life and Leadership Office for an application. Vendors will be selected to ensure a variety of services, products and educational materials are represented.
